The first documentary I made and still my favourite, due to the beautiful soul that was Robert Bodel. Robert was an innocent and vulnerable man and the most authentic artist I have ever encountered. He was too far outside society to belong to the outsider art culture. Directed and edited by myself and shot by Paul McParland. After three days of silence and chain smoking, Robert opened up about his life and his artistic compulsions. I was glad to call him a friend and he is missed, at least we still have his art.
