Michael MacBroom is a filmmaker, videographer and photographer from Belfast. He holds a BA Hons in Film Studies from Queen’s University, Belfast. He has written, directed and edited several feature films and multiple shorts. Michael’s work has been distributed in North America and has screened in festivals across the world. He was editor on two features for Sundance and Cannes winner, Rob Nilsson in USA. Michael’s film work is character driven and characterised by improvised realism and naturalistic humour.
As a videographer and photographer for commercial and public sector clients, Michael creates videos of all kinds that are crafted specially for the client, whether it be brand, promo, event, case study, recruitment videos and just about anything else.
Michael is a CAA certified (A2 C of C) and fully insured drone operator. This means he can safely and legally fly a cinema quality drone in busy areas up close.
Michael began his professional life as a film trainer, facilitating film projects with diverse groups including youth at risk, asylum seekers, SEN groups, intergenerational groups, men’s and women’s groups, teachers, students, children, professionals and anyone else you can think of. Michael is adept at working with people from all walks of life and has the unique skill of being able to draw out the best in people and also represent them and their brand to the world with creative flair.
Michael lives in Belfast with his wife and two children. He occasionally attempts to skateboard and surf and he still believes that one day he will reunite his noise rock band.
